Network Engineer / Network Support Engineer

I have recently partnered with a large public sector body in the South West who are looking to add to their existing IT team with an additional Network Engineer.

I am ideally looking for someone who has a background in computer networking with strong Cisco or Juniper knowledge and hands on network engineering experience.

This would be a great opportunity for someone who has solid experience within 2nd line/3rd line networking support to take the next step in their career and move into a more specialist role within an extremely well respected organisation.

Requirements:

* Hands on network support experience at 2nd/3rd line

* Experience working in a technical network engineer / network analyst / network support role

* Thorough and broad understanding of network fundamentals and networking hardware

* Main tech is Juniper and Brocade however, those with in depth Cisco knowledge will also be considered

* CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCP or willingness to work towards one of these within 12 months

* SC clearance or ability to gain SC clearance

Key responsibilities:

* Assist in design, implementation, and support of organisation's mission critical network infrastructure systems

* Assist in management of all aspects of the company's network including WAN, LAN, Connectivity, Routers, Firewalls, VPN, lines e.t.c.

* Provide 2nd/3rd line support ensuing high standards of work of all time and escalating issues to the senior network team when required

* Support with delivery of company-wide IT projects
