About the role

A Senior Project Manager plays a pivotal and strategic role in delivering the most significant projects and programmes of change towards our 2022 strategic vision.

The post holder will be responsible for driving projects and programmes with budgets in excess of £1m to a high standard of project management best practice. They will be accountable for leading cross organisational teams from all kinds of specialisms and ensuring that they effectively deliver within a robust framework of governance, planning, budgeting and risk management.

They will also directly manage a small team of project managers within the project management office, providing them with leadership, development and coaching.

About you

We are looking for someone with extensive experience of leading and delivering large, complex projects or programmes of projects in a medium to large organisation. You will be an expert in project management with deep, practical, real world experience of making the methodology work to achieve measurable outcomes.

You will have a breadth of experience and the flexibility to apply it to a wide range of different kinds of projects from technology, people and process to product development and innovation.

You will have managed budgets in excess of £1 million pounds and large distributed project teams from multiple disciplines. You will know how to form a team and get the best from it.

You will be comfortable in a leadership role and experienced in managing relationships with senior stakeholders.
