The Role

As a Stress Engineer, you will help to develop the structure for a new type of aircraft, from the ground up.

Reporting to the Head of Structures, you will:

- Plan, schedule and carry out in-depth structural simulations on aircraft structures and systems

- Prepare presentations and document your results in technical reports

- Develop structural proposals and definitions to aerospace standards

- Support the development of new methods and processes for the Stress Team

- Assist with the demonstration of Means of Compliance standards

- Work with the Design Engineers to create alternate proposals and support structural optimisation

About You

To be considered as a Stress Engineer, you will need:

- Experience of analysing lightweight composite structures

- Previous experience of performing low and high cycle fatigue analysis

- Experience and proficiency in at least one modern FEM package, ideally ANSYS Workbench

- Strong fundamental knowledge of aircraft structures and systems

- A thorough understanding of engineering first principles and the ability to perform hand calculations to sense check

- Knowledge of static structural analysis and finite element methods with experience of orthotropic materials

- A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an aerospace, mechanical engineering or related discipline
