Desktop Support Engineer - London (Kings Cross) - £50k

My client are a really exciting established medical tech start up who have just signed a long term contract with the NHS to implement their groundbreaking technology.

They are setting up brand new offices near Kings Cross station due to their growth and need an experienced Desktop Engineer to join and set up their systems and hardware from scratch. This role allows for career progression in the short term and can take on leadership responsibilites as they continue to grow and add to their London IT team.

You will also be working in an organisation that is saving lives!

Job Responsibilities:

* Independently manage all desktop/helpdesk support requests for U.K. office in adherence to Corporate IT standards and guidelines

* Build, configure, support & troubleshoot Hardware, Software including Windows, Mac OS and Mobile devices

* Specific responsibility related to the management of user systems such as desktops, laptops, tablets, video conferencing systems (preferably Zoom), etc…

* Experience in service management tools to manage incidents & change requests (Preferably Zendesk)

* Experience in OS (Windows, Mac) Patch management to all Endpoint systems

- Knowledge of Kace & JAMF tools preferred

* Understanding of IT Asset management tools and practices

* Experience in managing Antivirus and End Point Encryption tools

* Knowledge of IT Security compliance practices and DR procedures

* Adherence to and active participation in the continuous development and improvement of all Corporate IT department quality policies and procedures.

* Participate in security audits related to HSRA, HIPAA, HITRUST and ISO27001

* Works with remote users in UK and EU to resolve computer and connectivity issues.

* Collaborate with the core IT group in Redwood City, CA and Austin, TX.

* Work with the Network Engineering team to maintain Internet services, IPSEC and wireless connectivity.

* Participate in new employee orientation

* Setup conference rooms, soft phones, desk IP phones for new users

* Work with local telecom companies to procure tablets, 4G/LTE service for mobile employees

* Assist in Hardware and Software procurement in adherence to CorpIT policies

* Resolve helpdesk tickets and manage user access to applications and IT services.

* Participate in local IT related projects for continuous improvement

* This position requires some on-call duties and occasional late nights / weekend work for systems upgrades, releases, etc.

* Some Travel may be required

Skills Needed:

* Knowledge and hands on experience in the IT managements of Windows, & Mac OS desktops and/or laptops. Virtual and physical systems.

* Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and work with cross-functional teams.

* Excellent customer service skills

* Excellent customer service skills to C-level executives

* Strong communication, documentation and MS Office skills.

Educational Requirements & Work Experience:

* Technical Certifications in Microsoft, Mac preferred

* Minimum of 5 years in a corporate IT desktop admin position or the equivalent.

* Working knowledge of JAMF and KACE for laptop and Mac management highly valued.
