The Job
We are looking for you to join our RF, Radar and Communications Team based within the Radio Trials Centre. As an RF test engineer you will support testing of aircraft communication, radio navigation and other Radio Frequency (RF) based systems.
This role offers the opportunity to develop technical competencies in the use of RF test equipment and test & analytical methods. The role will require development of competencies to allow cross-skilling into other parts of the RF Design, Test and Evaluation Group.
Key Accountabilities
You will be responsible for:
* Providing technical leadership and development of other operator's knowledge
* Providing customer support and expertise
* Improving efficiency and developing modern ways of working in line with industry best practice
* Supply of trials data to internal customers (e.g. Trials Engineers) and external customers;
* Attendance at pre-flight briefings for flight trials
* Supporting facility maintenance and calibration activities
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
* Electrical/Electronic/RF/Communication Engineering Qualification, e.g. HNC
* A high standard of computer literacy, e.g. Microsoft Word and Excel
* Knowledge of RF Test and Measurement Techniques and underpinning standards/specifications
* Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
* Organised and methodical work ethic
* Good problem solving abilities
* Full UK driving licence (manual)
Desirable skills:
* CAA Ground radio Operator licence
* Knowledge of military aircraft avionic systems
* Driving licence trailer towing class
* Elevated Platform "Cherry Picker" operator Licence/ Working at Heights/ Tower climbing trained
