Spring Technology's client, a public sector organisation, are currently looking to recruit a Senior Infrastructure Engineer for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of £400-450/day (outside of IR35) based in Edinburgh.

Responsibilities:

* Work alongside the current multi-skilled Infrastructure Engineers to provide a range of Oracle technical services.

* Working with internal business and technical colleagues for solutions across varied infrastructure and platforms such as installation, upgrades & patching, performance monitoring, backup and DR solutions.

* Examples include working with Oracle Database 10g and 11g, RMAN & Dataguard, RAC, OEM and Solaris administration.

Requirements:

* Experience of various Oracle versions e.g. 11g or 12c in large scale enterprise.

* Working knowledge of RAC, RMAN, Data Guard, ASM and Grid Control.

* Experience with Enterprise Manager monitoring and performance tuning oracle databases.

* Exposure to Solaris system administration within Oracle VM Server for SPARC environments.

* A strong appreciation of complex architecture and solutions.

* Capacity planning, performance management and optimisation of virtualised Solaris environments.

* Ability to understand the business impact of technical problems and be able to make risk assessments.

* Ability to meet challenging deadlines and work under pressure.

* Willing to assist in solving problems and assisting colleagues with tasks outwith core role.

* Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop effective working relationships.

* Ability to create high quality documentation.
