Network Engineer - Cisco/Juniper
Our fantastic global client is looking for a Network Engineer to join their Managed Services team in Solihull.
You would get involved in the planning and installation of new hardware, monitoring, ensuring high network availability, resolving complex client related problems, and designing and implementing all VPN/WAN links internally and with external clients.
The Network Engineer responsibilities include:
- Monitor network links for performance
- Troubleshoot and repair network related problems
- Identify network configuration and/or performance irregularities.
- Ensure entire network is properly monitored
- Implement and support network Infrastructure
- Document and improve existing processes and procedures
- Serve as a technical resource by providing support to multiple projects and business units
Technically, you will work with:
- Cisco ASA and Juniper firewalls
- Routing- Layer 3 and Switching - Layer 2
- High proficiency with routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), VPN and various firewall technologies and vendors.
- Network Applications/Protocols - Familiarity with DHCP, DNS, WINS, FTP, TFTP, SSH, Radius, TACACS
- Physical Media - Familiarity with Cat 5/5e/6 and fibre (single mode and multimode).
- Strong performance tuning and capacity planning experience
- Provide 24 x 7 production support on a rotating basis.
- CCNP or JunOS certification would be advantageous
