CAD Design Engineer (Mechanical) - Electronic Controls

Basingstoke, Hampshire

c£45,000 per annum, depending on experience + competitive package including enhanced holiday entitlement, on-site parking and an enhanced pension scheme

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our growing electronics company. We design and manufacture bespoke electronic solutions to meet customers’ specific requirements.

We are looking to improve our products and processes to ensure they reach the highest possible standards and are currently seeking a CAD Design Engineer to enhance our team and assist us in achieving our goals.

The Role:

You will work as part of a team of 10 Engineers responsible for the design of electronic controls for the automotive industry. The work involves the design of electronic packaging solutions, including injection moulded components, and small wiring harnesses. A part of the job involves the preparation of PowerPoint presentations used to convey new concepts to project stakeholders.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity for full project involvement from conception to volume production.

About you:

Applications are invited from candidates with a good HND (minimum) in a mechanical engineering discipline, with proven experience in the following:

+ Catia v5

+ Electronic packaging, ideally for the automotive industry.

+ Preparation of assembly drawings

+ Small wiring harness drawings

+ Design of injection moulded components.

In addition to your technical skills, you will need the following:

+ Commercial awareness, including an appreciation of component costs and their impact on the final product

+ Experience of working in a company which manufactures their own designs

+ Teamworking

You may have worked in the following capacities:

CAD Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Design Drafts Person, Electronic Packaging, Mechanical Design.
