The Data Analyst will be working for a specialist investment manager for charities, religious organisations and the public sector. Largely owned by our clients’ funds, we manage our business exclusively for the benefit of our investors.

Data Analyst main job function

Main Responsibilities:

           Support the development and expansion of a performance and business information database

           Manage, maintain, test and analyse information within the database - e.g. performance, allocation, transactions and holdings.

           Test and analyse new data and information sets to be on-boarded to the database. These could be quantitative or qualitative.

           Assist in the implementation of new automated data checking processes and contribute to system development projects

           Interrogate data to catch anomalies in performance and portfolio information used within client reports.Flag issues so that these can be resolved quickly.

           Produce quarter-end client reporting for investors and prospective clients, including the inputting of qualitative and quantitative data and correcting of any associated errors and edits.

           Create and edit new reporting and business information templates within the new reporting system.

           Assist in collating information to satisfy requests from Front Office, for review by the Performance Oversight and Reporting Manager.

           Help expand the self-serve Front Office information area with performance information, fund statistics and other data to support the sales effort.

           Ensure that the Performance Oversight and Reporting Manager is kept aware of all significant matters, issues and requests.

           Participate in cross-training and provide cover for the whole Performance Oversight and Reporting function.

Experience/Skills Required

           2 years city/financial services experience, ideally in a data-centric or analytical capacity

           Strong SQL.

           Very strong Excel and MSOffice skills

           A good degree in a numerate or technical subject (or a non-graduate with very strong technical A-Levels)

           Highly numerate and accurate, with excellent attention to detail.

           An analytical mindset is needed to spot and correct errors in data and reports.

           An interest in self-study and hunger to expand and develop skill-set and knowledge of performance, ideally via the CIPM qualification.
