IT Security Analyst - Birmingham City Centre

IT Security Analyst - to 45k+Benefits

This is a key position working in the Security team, to provide analysis of Business as Usual, project and other change-related activities.

You will work in a cutting edge technical environment, and be responsible for responding to cyber threats and investigating new and innovative ways to combat these threats.

You would work daily with the following tools

* Penetration Testing tools,Vulnerability Assessment tools, Web Application Firewalls, IPS

* Ownership of the security toolset

* Provide in depth analysis of threats and proactively work with technical and interdisciplinary teams to determine resolutions.

* Support the programme of periodic Information Security risk reviews and spot checks

* Promote Security awareness, and perform/oversee performance of security testing

Essential Skills

* Approximately 2 years of practical IT Security experience or in a Security related role

* Awareness of legal, technical and assurance principles as they relate to Information Security

* The ability to effectively gather, analyse and communicate, both verbally and in writing across the internal stakeholder and third party communities

* Educated in a subject with preferably an IT, analytical or commercial focus.

* Experience conducting Vulnerability Assessments, and capacity to analyse security threats.

* Experience with Internet/network protocols

* Expertise with one or more of the following - DLP, DDoS protection, IDS, and WAF

Desirable Skills

* Demonstrable experience and knowledge of the cybersecurity industry

* Experience in Web Application Security

* Demonstrable knowledge of current cybersecurity threats and trends

* Personal Profile

This role is a key position in the IT Security team and works in conjunction with the Head of Security. The ideal candidate will demonstrate capability in both Technical work and in depth Information Security Analysis.
