Role: Environment Manager

Location: Knutsford

Duration: 3 Months + extension

Start: ASAP

Description:

Key Accountabilities

* Manage and co-ordinate project environment requirements

* Co-ordinate environment bookings

* Manage new build, integrations and technical pipe cleaning

* Follow Environments release processes to perform any Release related duties.

* Setting up Release calendars for projects for shared infrastructures

* Attend Environments defects from JIRA/QC raised by testing team within the agreed SLA.

* Validate Environments defects by checking Logs extracted from self-service links/accessing servers and by using appropriate Environments documentations

* Triage Environment issues by organising conference calls with testing team and resolving team and followed by getting Resolution of Environments defects done via self-service accesses or via external teams.

* Document the root causes of the environment defects and identify and implement preventive measure to prevent the root cause from re-occurring.

* Perform actions to resolve Auto alerts on environments issues using environment defect management process.

* Create/Maintain Environment asset/landscape documentation.

* Arrange and perform Knowledge sharing sessions with the Environment support colleagues on Lessons learnt and project specific environments details

* Provide MI output to address the trend in environment stability issues and establish initiatives to solve environment stability issues and prove the cost savings established after implementing the initiatives.

Stakeholder Management and Leadership

* Establish a good relationship with the testing community and address environment related concerns by taking direction from the Environment support manager.

* Establish Good relationship with the resolving infrastructure partner teams by following their processes

* Co-ordinate and Lead Virtual team in the provision and support of environments

Decision-making and Problem Solving

* Strong analytical/problem solving skills

* Ability to work independently

* Ability to analyse technical architecture

* Keeps up to date with the latest technical developments

Risk and Control Objective

Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal client Policies and Policy Standards.

The successful applicant must have excellent personal skills with a proven experience of working in environments space. Must be able to demonstrate the following personal capabilities:

* Excellent analytical/problem solving skills

* Delivery focused and able to work in a high pressure environment

* Quick thinker and fast learner. Able to adapt and deal with changing priorities.

* Able to prioritise work and manage time effectively.

* Strong oral and written communications.

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

The successful applicant must have excellent technical skills with a proven experience of working in environments space. Must be able to demonstrate the following technical capabilities:

* Experience of Linux, Windows based systems.

* Experience of relational database systems and servers (preferably Sybase and/or MS-SQL)

* Knowledge of MQ & Connect : Direct integration

* Knowledge of IBM Websphere and experience with Java applications

* Knowledge of web servers (IIS, Tomcat)

* Knowledge of release tools like Nolio, Jenkins ,Bladelogic etc

* Knowledge of using monitoring tools.

* Knowledge of Cloud Technologies

* Good understanding of ITIL
