Contract IT Technical Support Specialist, Livingston, Scotland.

Supporting an established Engineering company with offices in Livingston, Scotland we are looking for an IT Technical Support Specialist. This will be for an initial 6 month contract and we need candidates to start within the next 3 weeks.

You will provide technical support for customers and internal employees (over the telephone, on-line networks, and email), document customer questions and problems, test/verify customer problems, evaluate company support requirements and document/communicate problems, install hardware and recommend system solutions.

Responsibilities:

* Support the company with design, sustaining, testing, and task reviews including hardware, software and systems.

* A strong customer focus with exceptional customer service skills

* A positive outlook with a can-do' attitude

* Analyze, diagnose and resolve a wide variety of desktop related incidents

* Ability to work on his/her own initiative and accept responsibility/ownership for calls

* Transfer of knowledge to other technical support personnel

* Develop new support processes as new systems products become available

* Coordinate requests for replacing defective parts

* Recognize and escalate potential issues and critical incidents in a timely and appropriate manner

* Participate and contribute successfully within a team environment

Skills and experience sought:

You have a Bachelor's Degree within Computer Science or Information technologies. You have been working at least 2 years within technical and customer support (help desk, internal or external).

Experience with condition monitoring or engineering equipment system is preferred. You have great computer skills, especially in MS SQL Server, LAN/WAN/Wireless network architecture and Operating systems (Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 10 etc.).
