For the world's largest TV and broadband company, based in Amsterdam I am looking for a Linux Systems Engineer who will contribute to their Data Center Transformation Project.

Context

This client is transforming 3 large Data Centers (DC's) into 12 strategic DC's in Europe in order to reduce their footprint. During this Pan-European project they are using a hybrid cloud solution consisting a part AWS and a part of their own solution.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1 Design, install, and maintain network hardware, middleware (Oracle, Enterprise Service Bus, SSO), software (LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, intranet systems, SDDCs), and online/web/SharePoint applications.

2 Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users.

3 Determine network and system requirements.

4 Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security.

5 Ensure network connectivity throughout a company's LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations.

6 Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers, and in network servers such as file servers, VPN gateways, and intrusion detection systems.

Must haves

* 2+ years proficiency with installing and administering operating Systems including AIX, Solaris, RHEL Linux and Oracle Enterprise Linux

* 2+ years proficiency of Virtualization Tooling such as VMware, Oracle Virtual Machine, Solaris LDOMs & Zones

* 1+ Automation skills e.g. Ansible and shell scripting.

* Awareness of Logical Volume disk management (Solaris Volume Manager & ZFS)

* Awareness of security, hardening and patching
