Frontend Developer

We’re looking for an experienced Frontend Developer with some understanding of one or more of the following: PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, Sass.

We build our sites in Wordpress and (occasionally) Drupal 8, creating landing pages and microsites to support recruitment campaigns for some of the world’s biggest employers. It’s rewarding for a developer in several ways. You get to work on front-end projects for lots of different clients, with different designs and functionality each time.

As part of a fully integrated Creative team, you will sit alongside web designers and motion graphics teams. So as well as getting sites to be the best that they can be, you will also have opportunities to get involved in thinking about the content for sites. What’s going to work? What isn’t? It’s a collaborative approach that involves much more than just the coding. A good understanding of Photoshop and Illustrator will be an advantage.

Last but not least, there’s lots of scope to innovate too. Sites we’ve built recently have included personalisation, API integration, different ways of measuring and tracking user journeys, as well as incorporating a host of plug-ins for animation and hover effects.

You don’t have to have years of coding experience behind you. But we’re a small team, so you do need to be a good communicator and a problem solver who understands everything from LINUX servers through to cross-browser testing. You’ll be organised: knowledge of GIT source control and GULP task runners is essential. And you’ll have lots of initiative, ready to jump on calls, listen to requirements, make recommendations and try different things until you get the right answer.
