Network Consultant to be based in London on a 3 Month contract. Experienced Network Consultant to carry out scoping separation activities in relation to data centre access gateways which enable access to production servers via an any connect VPN solution.

Rate - £ 700 per day

Duration - 3 Months

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

The main responsibility is to fulfil a senior role within the Solutions Consultancy team in the area of Data Centre Network Services. It is a 3 month assignment with a specific scope associated with building out new network management tools sets for 2 legal entities and migrating from the existing onto the new. It also involves scoping separation activities in relation to data centre access gateways which enable access to production servers via an any connect VPN solution.

Main responsibilities include:

* To engage with the requestors and their architects to clarify and validate complex network and security service requirements.

* To engage with our Design team (and potentially Architecture) for initial review and feedback of bespoke/complex solutions in order to scope the requirements

* To work across ENT and with supporting resources to define the Requirement Specifications/Impact Assessments ensuring a collaborative approach and consensus agreement on the technical, service and commercial specification of the network and systems services to be delivered.

* To produce Statements of Work which clearly define the Capability Separation deliverables which captures requirements and scope.

* Ensuring success criteria is clearly understood by key stakeholders and documented to guarantee timely approval once scope has been delivered.

* To participate in discussions with internal stakeholders, to influence upstream product/application architectures and offerings, infrastructure standardization and related non-functional support capability for order fulfilment, service assurance and performance management.

* To create handover documents which will include support model framework so that formal handovers can happen in a timely manner and be all encompassing of the requested requirements

* This is part of a large program and late delivery could expose either legal entity to incur significant penalties - thus critical to meet deadlines.

Technical /Professional Skills & Competencies:

Essential Skills & Experience Required:

* Excellent understanding of network services and technologies, design, development and launch of complex online telecoms products and services to diverse markets on a global scale to business-critical levels of service

* Concrete experience and excellent knowledge of network access gateways to production servers, encompassing remote access (VPN)

* Very good knowledge of network performance management tools eg Splunk, HPNA, Sev One, Cisco ISE and GigaStor

* Very good communications skills, both verbal and written, to capture business requirements and explain complex ideas to wide range of audience

* Ability to meet tight timelines

* A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is envisaged for the role, but exceptional candidate with less experience would be considered

Desired Skills:

* Excellent documentation skills

* Good understanding of the challenges generated during transformational separation projects

* Acute management of risks to ensure mitigation plans are effectively executed avoiding or reducing issue impact.
