The IT Technical Lead will be responsible for creating, reviewing and maintaining detailed designs and architectural solutions for the EU development team. The successful candidate will be a "go to person" for technical queries; they will help direct the scrum teams technically and will be expected to be 50% hands on. They will be part of the Technical Architect Group (TAG) which is tasked to improve the standard and quality of architecture/design throughout all of the EU solutions.
The Technical Lead will have an in-depth understanding of the underlying technologies, architectures and integrations between products (internal/external) and be a functional expert in Asurion front-office and back-office products. The Technical Lead may at times assist in pre-sales solutioning for EU client opportunities and interact with European clients and key Europe business stakeholders. This position will maintain solid relationships with the North America Technology Products organizations.
Technical: Experience in multiple of the following disciplines

Experience Agile tools & methodologies like SCRUM, JIRA, Confluence
Enterprise Architectures
User Interface development (CSR, Web, IVR, etc.)
SOA development
Enterprise Messaging Systems/Enterprise Service Bus
Database development
Network design/administration
Server implementation/administration
Data security, PCI, GDPR
Essential Job Functions
Develops IT solutions and conceptual architectures based on business requirements
Excellent at creating and communicating illustrations of solutions and concepts
Ability to work and provide direction on software, network, hardware and security solutions
Maintains a strong working knowledge of system integrations and is able to understand changes in order to anticipate cross-system or cross-process impacts
Maintains a strong functional working knowledge of Asurion's front-office and back-office suite of products
Expected to be hands on coding, allocating 50% capacity to the sprint
Reviews and approves technical specifications
Skilled in diagnosing and solving complex problems and providing detailed technical analysis
Maintains proficiency in the application and use of tools within Technology Products
Effectively communicates the feasibility of requested deliverables and timelines to the Development Manager
Provide training and mentoring to team members.
Maintains knowledge of the unique requirements of the European marketplace
Strong knowledge of the latest computer technologies and concepts
Superior oral and written communication skills.
Exhibits drive and initiative to learn whatever is necessary to explore new solutions
Experience working in distributed development teams.
Experience and Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Computer Sciences or related field
8+ years of experience in a similar field
5+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas (or combination thereof):
Telecommunications industry
Insurance / claims industry
Relevant IT Discipline
