Manufacturing Test Supervisor-Precision Engineering

Oxfordshire-Commutable from Abingdon, Harwell, Newbury, Oxford, Wantage, Didcot

£35-40K plus flexitime, 10% bonus, Pension (matched up to 7.5%), Private Medical, 25 days holiday

Hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday (Flexitime-core hours 9.30AM-3.30PM)

The position is very varied but will involve leading a small team who prepares cutting tools before testing them through a variety of applications tests to explore their performance using Lasers, grinding and honing machines to very tight tolerances. Wear tests are run on CNC machines and the performances of tools are assessed using high power microscopes and force measurement.

Tasks will include:

1.Line Management of 6-7 direct reports; taking ownership of their safety, performance and personal development.

2.Plan and supervise the daily running of the Precision Testing function. Test development in the area using agile management methods.

3.Ensure the quality of all operations are maintained and improved; including equipment calibration, standard operating procedures, material traceability, stocks of key components, etc.

To apply you should have

1.Academic/working experience of manufacturing

2.Demonstrable experience of leading a small team including using lean and 5s.

3.Knowledge of precision machining processes including turning, milling, EDM or Laser cutting, grinding
