We currently have an exciting opportunity for someone to join a fast paced IT department as a Test Analyst. The main purpose of the role will be to contribute in delivering multiple projects within complex programmes of work. As a key member of the test department, the analyst can expect to undertake test planning, execution, and defect resolution activities.
As a Test Analyst your key responsibilities will include;
* Assist in the analysis of requirements to define and clarify the testing process.
* Contribute into the creation of low level estimates of time for a specific test phase.
* When required, write, collate, and analyse all relevant documentation to clarify understanding of requirements.
* Define, create, maintain and execute tests in accordance with the Standard Test Approach in order to meet the expected results.
* Follow the defect identification and reporting process in order to maintain defect management standards and to ensure appropriate resolution measures are taken to meet the functional specification/requirements.
* Communicate progress against plan for any work packages assigned. Formally feedback progress, status, issues, and concerns as appropriate.
* Adherence to internal quality control procedures and test processes.
* Maintain internal/external relationships to ensure quality and required standards are met and maintained.
* The above are only the core responsibilities which makeup the framework for this role however there is an expectation of professional ownership as part of the Test Department which requires one to work outside the framework when appropriate.
For success in the role we would need you to have;
* Minimum of 3 years test experience.
* Experience in the use of Quality Centre to maintain and run tests and to record defects.
* SQL knowledge and comfortable in interrogating database tables.
* Attention to detail with the ability to articulate where actual results deviate from the expected results.
* An energy and enthusiasm to drive quality and to improve the service that we provide.
* Be a great communicator - whether within your team or across the organisation.
* An ability to work in a high-pressured environment and deliver a quality solution under agreed timescales.
* Excellent Planning, Organisational and Problem Solving skills that give you the ability to prioritise your workload to achieve the best outcome for all.
* Experience in Selenium, QTP or Fitnesse to write and execute automated tests would be desirable.
* Any previous exposure into the IT community or IT Testing Qualification would be a desirable asset.
