The Company

As a leading specialist civil engineering and construction company working in the HV infrastructure sector, my client has an exciting opportunity to join the company as a Site Manager or Leading Project Engineer (leading a site), working to deliver complex, high value projects throughout the UK for clients such as National Grid and the DNOs.

The Candidate & Role

Working on sites throughout the UK, including: Glasgow, Manchester, Hull, Coventry, Bristol, Brighton

Travel will be required with sites located all over the UK working away from home Monday - Friday will be required depending on the location of the site.

We are seeking a well presented, articulate site engineer with the ability to liaise directly with clients during site meetings, site staff and internally with the estimating & procurement departments, working with honesty and integrity to maintain the company image and values and ensure a customer focused approach to site activities.

The candidate should be highly literate and numerate, with the ability to plan and manage works efficiently, allocating resources (labour, plant and materials) and manage the work loads of gangs of directly employed labour, plant, and specialist sub-contractors to effectively and efficiently deliver projects on time and within budget.

We are seeking a motivated, focused and enthusiastic individual with good leadership skills and the ability to adapt to meet client priorities as projects develop.

Although not essential the ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in the utilities or related sectors, such as drainage, road construction/maintenance or groundwork's, with experience of reinforced concrete construction, duct laying, excavation and trenching.

A working knowledge of New Roads and streetworks and working in a range of environments such as the highways.

Greenfield and Brownfield sites would also be beneficial.

A good level of financial awareness is necessary for accurate recording of site expenditure, and variation works, as well as the creation of payment applications for works completed.

Qualifications & Experience

Ideally degree qualified (preferably in civil engineering or related field) with a Minimum of 3 years site experience in a site management role) The following qualifications are desirable although full training will be provided to the right candidate.

* Conversant with current UK Health and Safety Legislation/Systems of works

* Able to complete RAMS for a variety of construction actvities using existing company or client templates

* SMSTS (5 Day Site Manager)

* NRSWA Supervisor

* Temporary Works Supervisor

* HSG-47 Awareness

* Computer literate - Able to use Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook (Experience in using and working with Microsoft Project also desirable)
