Integration and Data Warehouse Support Manager

My client has an exciting brand-new role in our BC&T department for an Integration and Data Warehouse Support Manager. As a hands-on owner of the clients Integration and Warehouse portfolio, the Integration and Data Warehouse Support Manager will support, manage and evolve the services through their operational lifecycle.

Reporting to the Head of Service and Systems Support, the responsibilities of the Integration and Data Warehouse Support Manager include:

* Lead, coach, develop and provide technical leadership to a team of Software Support Analysts to ensure that the team has the knowledge and skill to manage systems.

* Working closely with vendors, ensure databases and integrations are monitored with procedures and controls in place in case of failure.

* Proactively own the analysis and resolution of technical issues and problems, escalating where necessary to obtain the necessary funding.

* Ensure data integrity across all integrations, address performance issues with appropriate technical solutions, maintain high availability, and eradicate data quality issues.

* Develop, document and maintain a full catalogue of all integrations, including, data sources, data integration and data flows deployed within, and embed that knowledge in the ITSM toolset to assist our support teams.

* Continuously review and consolidate when required all legacy / redundant integrations and databases to drive efficiencies.

* Creatively support the creation of new dashboards and reports to support the changing needs of internal customers.

* Provide advice and technical expertise to new initiatives and authorised projects. Act as the subject matter expert providing internal consultancy and technical guidance for the Data Warehouses and Integration Technologies.

* Create and maintain a continuous improvement plan to leverage the existing functionality within our integration platform and data warehouses to increase the capability and performance of our systems and offer our customers a better experience.

* Identify opportunities to use systems to increase profit and margin or improve business processes and efficiencies through System Enhancements and changes.

* Create and Manage the rolling Systems Maintenance plans, including the implementation of all platform updates and improvements, enabling to keep their systems within support and up to date.

* Working closely with the Digital Support team, define and implement our API support models, ensuring the necessary monitoring, support processes and technical competencies are in place.

* Define appropriate standards and best practices, aligned to industry standards, and ensure adherence to BC&T guidelines.

* Provide 2nd and/or 3rd Line Support to the Service Management team during incidents and problems.

* Ensure that systems remain secure, legally compliant, and resilient; in line with applicable data regulations and policies.

* Pro-actively engage with our Vendor Managers to understand Vendor IT roadmaps and work with the Service Design team to ensure IT Roadmap is in line with the vendors' plans and our Systems Maintenance plans are in sync.

* Work closely with Vendor Managers and actively participate in Service Review meetings.

* Manage and mitigate risk to their services through effective risk management and escalate to the Head of Technology and System Support when appropriate.

* Collaborate with BC&T Colleagues to define support models, SLAs and acceptance criteria for new and existing services. Assist with the process of 'acceptance into service' for new or revised IT services.

* Deputise for the Head of Service and Systems Support when required.

Skills & Qualifications Required:

* 3 - 5 years' experience in a Data Warehouse / Integration platform support role.

* Must have experience of supporting a wide range of current database, reporting, and integration technologies including BizTalk Microsoft SQL, SAP BI, Oracle and DB2.

* Strong database fundamentals and data modelling knowledge including, data warehouses, ODS, data mart, data cube, and other database technologies.

* Experience with SOAP, REST, Webservices, Tomcat, XML, JMS, and SOA/Integration technologies desired.

* Effectively manage a variety of competing activities and priorities

* Ability to build and maintain relationships, grow confidence, credibility and trust with customers, key stakeholders and BC&T colleagues.

* Demonstrable problem-solving and analytical skills.

* Educated to degree level or equivalent

* ITIL Foundation V3

* PRINCE 2 desirable
