Infrastructure Support Engineer

Contract

£375 per day

Infrastructure Support Engineer - Central London - Contract - £375 per day.

My client is a well established specialist financial support institute who require an experienced Infrastructure Support Engineer.

The successful candidate will responsible for the maintenance and support of all IT operating and infrastructure systems. To assist in the design and implementation of changes within the IT infrastructure and help drive decision making for all IT operational improvement.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

*Develop and maintain continual improvement plans to ensure the IT infrastructure adequately supports the business needs going forward.

*Respond to system alerts and calls from users in relation to functional performance of applications including hardware, software and security systems.

*Perform root-cause-analysis on reported problems, liaising with external vendors where required.

*Project management and delivery of new business applications and systems.

*Coordinate IT projects/resources with the senior management team.

*Strong vendor management and partner relation skills to identify and leverage resource.

*Manage the vendor relationships in a positive, constructive and efficient manner, ensure key deliverables are met and SLA's are agreed and operational.

*Managing a portfolio of work, being either single or multiple projects throughout the project life-cycle.

*Document and maintain current support procedures.

*Installation and upgrades to systems and servers and managing user access and system access.

*Security - managing antivirus platforms, windows patching, open-dns security, Symantec endpoint content filtering.

*Business recovery planning, procedures and testing.

*Keep informed and up to date on latest tech, trends and issues.

*Strive to provide excellent customer service on an external and internal basis.

Must have strong experience in -

*Networking, WAN, LAN, SCCM, DFS/DFSR, GPO, SCCM, DNS, DHCP, IP telephony-SIP, open-dns, VLAN's.

*VMWare ESXi - design, configuration, implementation and support VMWare and Hyper-V / Veeam.

Experience and Knowledge

*5-7 years' experience in technical and/or application support

*ITIL and Prince 2 frameworks desirable

*MSCE - desired or equivalent experience

*VMware certified professional - desired

*VM ware - 3 years+

*Banking - 5 years+

*Citrix - 3 Years+

*PM - 3 years+

*Focused experience as a 2nd/3rd line technician.

*Must have a minimum of strong but ideally advanced working knowledge of Microsoft windows 10 and server environments, SQL,PC builds, Active Directory, PowerShell, Citrix, VMware and Storage.

*Strong knowledge of Networking, design, WAN, LAN, SCCM, DFS/DFSR, GPO, SCCM, DNS, DHCP, IP telephony-SIP, open-dns, VLAN's.

*VMWare ESXi - design, configuration, implementation and support VMWare and Hyper-V.

*Experience with messaging - Exchange / Active Directory Exchange / Office 365.

*Strong IT troubleshooting skills in relation to end user support and backend servers.

*Scripting work - e.g. VBScript and PowerShell.
