DevOps / IOPS Lead Engineer/ Architect - Ansible Automation Monitoring WITBE - Investment Bank

DevOPs/ IOPS Lead engineer / architect with experience of global infrastructure, required who can design global trading platforms. With experience in complex infrastructure / architecture, with good understanding of security concept, the locking down of servers, latencies, networks, system admin etc.

Production experience / good understanding across most of the following:

Global infrastructure, Firewalls, networking, security and DMZ's, Proxy's etc.

System administration - Strong knowledge in Linux/Unix/Windows systems and performance metrics

Networks: network principals and practical knowledge of load balancing technologies, such as F5 Big-IP

Monitoring - Experience in managing monitoring tools (ITRS Geneos beneficial)

Automation - Implementation Experience to release and or server automation tools such as Ansible, Ansible Tower and Bladelogic

Familiarity with storage such as NetApp, CIFS and NFS

Knowledge of programming and Scripting methodologies and demonstrate proficiency in writing code in one or more of the following languages; Python, Ansible (preferred), bash

Data - Experience into Log indexing product such as Splunk and Elastic Search

Application Servers - Strong knowledge in configuring and supporting web technologies such as Tomcat, Apache, nginx, IIS

Experience and good knowledge of large scaled containerisation and orchestration tools such as kubernetes/docker/rancher and container persistent storage volumes etc.

Analytical skills - Ability to analyse data surrounding incidents to a fine level, investigate dependencies and evaluate possible areas for improvement, and actions with a view to automate resolution

Ability to liaise with developers, team members and customers at the appropriate level

Maintain standards to ensure consistency across applications and server estate

Role:

You will be part of a multi-disciplined team which is responsible for all aspects of the platforms under their remit, the role covers many aspects from project initiatives, architecture and design, POC work through to production support function. The team provides global platforms and frameworks to the global organisation and thus requires a wide range of technical and architectural skills with experience in global platforms, security constraints, high quality documentation and ability to work effectively in a global team. The role will involve a focus on support of a new DMZ segregated environment hosting a number of key applications. You will need to have practical knowledge of performance and capacity management from an application, database and network perspective as well as strong aptitude for automation. We are looking for someone who can come up with ideas to improve the way things currently work. You must be a strong team player, be able to consider multiple view points in the course of your work and be diligent. Being able to think outside of the box and have original ideas is essential. Exposure to WITBE would be a plus.
