Huxley Associates and one of the UK's leading names in the Engineered Solutions for the Power & Energy Industries are looking to recruit a Manufacturing Production Engineer on a permanent basis, owing to the continued growth of the company, the need for additional headcount to meet current & future project demands and the need to strengthen the Manufacturing Production Team.

This Manufacturing Production Engineer role has been newly created to support the objective of using technology and investment to drive improvement across all our key performance areas.

The scope for improvement is large, as my client are currently going through a full site Lean initiative to improve current structures & procedures ready for expansion and growth.

Overview of Manufacturing Production Engineer:

* Take individual responsibility in setting up processes to a high level of safety, quality, cost and delivery. Solving problems as they occur.

* Work in project teams to design and implement automated processes for new and existing products. Interpreting product specification and engineering requirements. Working to a project plan and budget.

* Work with production teams to continually improve existing production processes by challenging existing paradigms.

* Manage a team of production engineers.

Responsibilities of Manufacturing Production Engineer:

* Design, specify and implement electrical and mechanical equipment for assembly and test processes. Taking into account best engineering practice, lean manufacturing, health and safety requirements, environmental requirements, product quality and ensuring compliance with external regulatory bodies as well as meeting internal requirements.

* Use software to integrate equipment and automate the handling of information.

* Identify new technologies and make recommendations to the production engineering team.

* Provide breakdown support and improve reliability of machines and equipment.

* Provide technical support for maintaining process instructions and documentation control.

* Actively assist in problem investigation and resolution.

* Raising capital applications and managing project implementation plans

* Working with the New Product Development Team to ensure all product and manufacturing requirements are taken into account from manufacturing feasibility through prototype manufacture to production release.

* Evaluate and develop appropriate and safe production methods for the introduction of new products or for the improvement of existing ones.

Knowledge & Skills Required for Manufacturing Production Engineer Role:

* Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering with minimum of 2 years or HNC/HND with 5 years' experience

* Previous Manufacturing Production Engineering experience in a similar role and environment (Manufacturing, Production, Assembly etc).

* Good awareness of continuous improvement techniques

* Experience of quality control, statistics and capability study

* Experience of MRP (Material requirements planning)

* Experience of implementing LEAN (ideally holding Continuous Improvement qualification)

For the successful Manufacturing Production Engineer, a salary up to £40,000 plus benefits is on offer and this Manufacturing Production Engineer role is commutable from Manchester, Salford, Bolton, Stockport, Bury, Didsbury, Manchester & Oldham.
