Compliance Officer - General Insurance

London

Up to £50000 per annum

Market leading general insurer currently seek a Compliance Officer to work in conjunction with the Head of Legal and Compliance to deliver an effective and commercially algned compliance strategy across the business.

The remit of the role will include:

* Working with the Head of Legal and Compliance and Corporate Compliance Department to promote an organisational culture committed to integrity, ethical conduct and compliance with applicable law and regulation.

* Acting as the first point of contact for compliance queries including for the Know Your Customer and Vendor Due Diligence programmes.

* Identifying new and emerging compliance issues and local regulations.

* In conjunction with the Head of Legal and Compliance, design, agree and execute the annual Compliance monitoring plan. Complete the monitoring activities outlined in the plan in a timely manner, making recommendations for improvements and tracking status of any remedial actions agreed.

* Supporting the production of the quarterly Regulatory and Compliance Management Information, including the legal and regulatory update and a Compliance dashboard.

* Assisting in the maintenance of compliance policies.

* Assisting in the oversight of regulatory, filing, and reporting requirements, responding to local regulatory enquiries.

The preference will be for candidates who can demonstrate prior experience in a compliance or risk role within the insurance industry, coupled with knowledge of UK financial services regulation (PRA/FCA) and or UK financial crime law.

This is an ideal opportunity for an articulate and ambitious candidate, wishing to gain exposure to a wide range of stakeholders, whilst preforming a varied role. Support will be provided to those seeking further insurance and/or compliance qualifications (for example CII or ICA).
