Network Engineer/Network Operations specialist required to join our client a major global banking and asset servicing company on an initial 6 month contract basis in their Manchester office. The successful network Engineer must have a strong knowledge of Cisco switching and routing is required and the ideal candidate will possess a CCENT, a CCNA would be a plus.
The role
Network Operations specialist - 2 - 3 years of network operations support. CCNA strongly preferred, CCENT required or 2 years of technical training/associates degree in routing and switching technologies
Works as a team member to assist in the implementation and support of systems in a production environment. Under the supervision of senior team members, his/her responsibilities will be to track problems according to standards and refers problem to the next level of support if appropriate.
Essential skills
A strong knowledge of Cisco switching and routing is required and the ideal candidate will possess a CCENT, a CCNA would be a plus.
The candidate will work on a shift which will share 24 x 7 support coverage which may require weekend and holiday coverage. There is limited if any on-call support requirement.
The candidate should also have experience with the following technologies:
o Juniper firewalls
o F5 Load balancers
o Wireshark/Sniffers
o Remedy
o Orion
o MoogSoft
o Strong MS Office and communication skills
