MS SQL OLTP Server Architect and Developer - T-SQL - Fixed Income - Investment Bank

MS SQL Server Architect is required who is an expert in Microsoft SQL Server OLTP architect and a T-SQL Developer, with expertise in working on high performance systems. The initial task will be to analyse the SQL Server architecture used and propose performance and maintainability improvements and lead the way with a migration to SQL Server 2017. Prototyping may be required to do this. After the initial analysis, the project will move into a design and then an implementation phase. You will also be expected to participate with any SQL developments the team is undertaking as part of their on-going maintenance efforts. Must have experience of business-critical high performance, highly-available OLTP solutions. Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server 2008R2 and ideally SQL Server 2017 (or 2016). Desirables: Technical knowledge of EMC and SRDF technology. C++ / .NET.

There is a also a "Data Ownership" project which involves remapping user permissions and defining owners of data within the inhouse System. The candidate will also be expected to help with the data analysis and SQL design and implementation to get this into production.

The role expects the candidate to be completely familiar with the Microsoft SQL tool set and to be able to work alone. A subscription to MSDN - Visual Studio Premium will be available to the candidate while on the job. The desktop will have Windows 7/10 installed and the servers will have 2008R2
