Owns the overall IT delivery for the Business Unit, from Bids and requirements gathering through delivery into support. Leads the engagement with the BU Executive and Line of Business (LoB) Directors to understand BU and LoB strategies and requirements. Works closely with IT leadership team and Group IS to optimise the IT delivery for the Business Unit across all areas of IT. Will have responsibility for headcount budget for IT BU team.

Overview

* Act as the Business Partner for the Business Unit, is responsible for enabling and growing the business through the design and delivery of relevant IT solutions and the adoption of new technologies as required

* Reports to the BU Executive / Board on the provision of all elements of IT within the Business Unit. Actively manage the expectations of the Business Unit, Company Division and the matrix managed / virtually aligned IT team and IS

* Work closely with the IT Leadership team to identify resource requirements, prioritisation and the leveraging of existing IT knowledge, technologies and capabilities to support their BU team as required.

* Develop and promote the use of IT standard software, tools and processes, champion group IT solutions from across the BU and IS

* Support BU Bid and Business Development activities, providing relevant solutions and IT services for current and future customers

* Capture and document business requirement, critically review and prioritise work load and maintain the BU IT pipeline of work within the IT governance structures and processes

* Provide oversight of the day to day transactional services required by the business unit in conjunction with the IT organisation and IS.

* Ensure that IT expenditure (service and project) is in line with budgets and budgetary approval. Help prepare the IT budget for the business within the financial planning round. Support the Sector IT budget preparation.

* Ensure the service delivery needs of the Business Unit operations against specific SLAs inc. out of hours support, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (DR) processes are developed and in place as necessary.

Key Skills

* Background of operating in Support Services / Outsourcing industries, and procedures including those for Health and Safety and IAMM

* Full driving licence

* Through a strategic approach, ability to fully understand the needs of the business and successfully translate these into IT requirements

* Experience of working within a large business change programme and the ability to champion change with end users

* Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and SME(s), prioritising activity accordingly

* Knowledge of MS Project, Project Server and / or other planning tools, resource allocation procedures and requirements capture and analysis techniques

* Able to operate as a member of the Senior Management Team, contributing to a wide range of commercial issues to provide joint outcomes

* Ability to present to clients at a Senior Management level

* Commercially astute. The ability to capture, monitor and challenge IT expenditure (Service Delivery and Project)

* Security Cleared (desirable) or ability to attain
