Oracle Database Administrator / Oracle SQL / PL SQL / Unix / Permanent / Telford
My nationally recognised client is looking for a passionate and experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join their amazing IT team at the Head Office in Telford, Shropshire.
The Oracle Database Administrator will provide the technical skills and support necessary to ensure that database systems operated meet user requirements and are efficient, reliable, and secure.
Key responsibilities:
*Manage all facets of the Oracle Database System environment.
*Manage data backup environment and ensure systems are available in the event of failure.
*Identify and resolve database related issues, determining root cause.
*Support production/test/development systems by optimizing performance, helping resolve problems, and providing timely follow-up on problem reports.
*Enforce database security policies and change management procedures.
*Oversee the coordination of patching cycles in conjunction with IS Infrastructure Team.
*Maintain and support, as required, in-house developed software.
*Provide, as required, management reports and statistics.
*Play an active technical role in the planning phase of new projects.
*Provide technical advice and guidance as required, on IT development projects, and the selection of packaged products, whether conducted within the IT department or within other user areas.
*Undertake technical developments from feasibility, design, build, and testing strategies through to implementation and technical support to the quality standard required.
*Compliance with all policies and procedures.
Key skills and experience required:
*Experience managing Oracle Database Environments (RMAN, OEM).
*Ability to design and develop in Oracle SQL, and PLSQL.
*Proven experience of Oracle 11g, 12c.
*Working knowledge of UNIX and the Windows Environment (desktop and server).
*A practical understanding of MS-Office.
*Able to communicate effectively with staff at all levels.
*Any experience of Application server and MS SQL Server is advantageous but not essential.
