Spring Technology's client, a public sector organisation, are currently looking to recruit a Web Content Designer for an initial 8 month contract on a rate of c.£175-£225/day (outside of IR35) based in Edinburgh.

Responsibilities:

* Content development for a new Beta website which focuses on top tasks and services, based on user research.

* Be an advocate and make the case for user-focused design.

* Develop content and content migration plans implementing improvements set out in a new content strategy.

* Work with stakeholders to produce high quality user focused content.

* Take complex language and processes and make them easy to understand.

* Scoping, commissioning, writing, editing and publishing digital content and be comfortable working with business users and technical teams to make improvements to data driven content products.

* Choosing the best format for displaying information to the user and proactively contributing new and innovative ideas.

* Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to understand user behaviour and feedback where you are the content expert.

* Support the Content Strategy Product owner and strategist develop and implement Content Strategy and Digital Design Standards as part of the overall delivery of the organisation's web and online roadmap programme.

Requirements:

* Experience of creating user-focused content.

* Delivering innovative and user-focussed services and functionality.

* Compliance with accessibility standards.

* Experience of using Markdown or basic HTML.

* Proven ability to develop and deliver content plans based on user research, content performance and negotiation with stakeholders.

* Ability to write high-quality content at speed and iterate based on findings from usability testing.

* Knowledge of, and practical experience of applying, web standards including accessibility and metadata.

* Understanding of content performance, using both quantitative and qualitative data to measure effectiveness and to inform planning and decision making.

* Experience engaging with and building online audiences via SEO (search engine optimisation.

* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships and influence colleagues and stakeholders.

* Practical content project management experience with knowledge of Agile project management methodology and working in a multidisciplinary team.
