Job Role: Java / Scala Developers

Location: Leeds

Contract Length: 3-6 months

As a Scala Developer you will be a disciplined professional that displays technical aptitude and will possess a level of business acumen. You will work in a dedicated product stream as part of a self-organising and empowered team (Agile). In bi-weekly iterations using XP and Scrum you will showcase the functionality you have completed and deliver high-quality working software to a production environment.

Your Key Responsibilities:

As a Software Developer you'll be knowledgeable and passionate about technology, enjoy pairing with other smart people and use agile to ensure your projects succeed. You will have the freedom to promote new and exciting technologies to the development stack.

* Develop excellent quality software using agile techniques such as Test Driven Development and Pair Programming

Your Skills

* Experience developing Scala

* Knowledge and experience of a wide range of best of breed open source and commercial technologies

* Experience of software development for high capacity, high traffic, high availability websites/systems

* You are an advocate of TDD, BDD and Agile principles (Scrum and XP)

* You love getting involved in all parts of the development process, collaborating closely in a cross-functional team.

* You are creative and keen to push forward internal development through participating in guilds, sharing knowledge and keeping on top of the latest technologies.
