Credit Risk Officer - new Dublin based Bank

This is your opportunity to join an established global banking business as it starts up new operations in Dublin. These operations will be the new European headquarters for the bank, a key move made necessary by the UK withdrawing from the EU. The bank will be growing their European operations, as well as relocating some of the existing operations from London.

Opportunities to join right at the start of a build phase, but with the backing of an already established bank do not come around that often, something that makes this particularly attractive if you want the excitement of being able to shape the future. This bank has a balanced business mix principally consisting of Corporate, Investment and Private Banking activity across Europe.

This role is one of the key new roles in their Dublin structure. The bank is seeking to recruit an established Credit Risk Vice President to take responsibility for reviewing, approving and managing credit exposure to Financial Institutions and Sovereigns in across Europe. The role involves sanctioning of derivative, loan and financing exposures to a large variety of clients, for which a high level of expertise is required combining both a deep understanding of the client fundamentals and the risks generated by the specific trade request. Furthermore, the role requires a proven capacity to manage exposure in situations of counterparty and market stress.

To be successful in this role it is expected that you will have the necessary skills and experience to take a lead role in the analysis of credit exposures and in the formulation of risk appetite and as such it is likely you will be able to offer extensive experience in a credit risk management role, particularly with an understanding of Financial Institutions and Sovereigns. You will have a solid understanding of derivative, lending, finance and clearing products as well as relevant legal and regulatory documentation. You will also have excellent senior stakeholder management skills.

If you want to be part of something new, contact Ben Halfpenny on +44 (0) 161 817 7805 or via the links below.

For candidates with exceptional skills there is the possibility that the bank will sponsor Visas for people to work in Ireland. Relocation packages to Dublin are also available.
