The company offer innovative solutions and technology and are a world leader in their field! This is an immediate requirement for a Chief Engineer with technical experience/ background across Systems/Software Electronics.

You will be delivering multiple concurrent development and production programmes ranging from tens of £K to several million pounds. Offering a competitive package with a growing company!

The ideal candidate would have a track-record of delivering large, complex multi-disciplinary development programmes to budget and schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provision of line management, resource management, and technical leadership for large group of multi-disciplinary engineers (around 30 engineers) to ensure that all employees are actively developed, and suitably skilled resources are applied to all development programmes.

* Work with Programme Management to ensure that engineering deliverables are made on time, to budget and are of suitable functionality and quality.

* Create continuous improvement in engineering capability in terms of people, practices, tools and technology.

* Provide strategic direction to the department: defines and delivers progressive technical roadmap that supports business needs; manages PV budget and developments to cost and schedule; works to ensure that all development activities (funded and PV) support the technical roadmap as far as possible.

* Support bids and proposals with technical resource - provides clear and compelling technical proposals and accurate estimates of cost for all engineering activities.

* Ensure all development is compliant with relevant internal and external processes and legislation, supports associated audits in this regard, minimising and closing non-conformances.

* Manage the engineering facilities (i.e. development and test labs) such that they are safe and adequate to support development needs

* Provide the senior technical relationship with customers, suppliers and other external bodies.

* Manage security of information as defined in the Security Manual

Additional:

* Technical depth and credibility in the area Systems/or Electronics. Experience such as radio communications and security systems, data links are an advantage.

* Degree in an engineering or similar field, or have equivalent experience.

* Ability to obtain SC Clearance.
