Data Engineer

A leading investment bank are looking for a Data Engineer to join their global risk analytics group who are responsible for developing database infrastructure to support the advanced analytics team.

Role Responsibility

As the successful candidate you will contribute in designing and developing robust architecture of the data platform which would allow seamless data connectivity from multiple data sources (i.e. all types of DBMS, Big Data and various cloud data lakes). S/he will engage with various stakeholders within wider GRA function, lead data requirements for various PoC, execute the platform development plan, deploy the solution and manage the change upon implementation. This role supports various analytical and highly quantitative projects within GRA RC function. The analytics team is involved in providing best-in-class Analytics solutions to the Regulatory Compliance (RC) function across lines of businesses and geographies. The team caters to both strategy and operations aspect of managing regulatory compliance through a combination of the following activities

Key Requirements

* Post Graduate qualifications (quantitative MSc / PhD) in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, Electronic Engineering or any other relevant quantitative discipline.

* At least 5 years of post-qualification experience of working in relevant Analytics field. Knowledge and understanding of financial services preferred and market conduct landscape is preferred.

* Database architectures, ETL scripting for Hadoop-based technologies, SQL-based technologies, NoSQL technologies, Data modeling tools, Data warehousing solutions, Predictive modeling, NLP and text analysis, Machine learning, Data mining, UNIX, Linux, Solaris and MS Windows.

* Strong experience in any of the following: Python, C/C++ Java, Perl, MatLab, SAS, R relevant data visualisation tools.
