Java Developer / Software Engineer (Data Kafka HDFS). Work on stimulating and technically challenging projects whilst gaining valuable knowledge of financial trading systems as part of a collaborative Agile TDD team.

FTSE 250 trading firm is seeking a technologist Java Developer to join the team responsible for building the next generation data processing and distribution system using the latest technologies in real-time stream processing and data storage.

You'll be working in a software house environment which offers a good work / life balance including flexible working hours and the option to work from home for part of the week. Open plan City based offices with a range of facilities and break out areas including pool table and ping pong table.

Requirements:

*Advanced core Java development skills

*Experience working with message queuing, stream processing and highly scalable big data stores (JMS, Kafka, HDFS)

*Strong SQL skills

*Familiar with Unit testing and TDD

*Excellent communication skills

*Desirable: Python, Lambda
