Service Desk IT Support Technician / Desktop 2nd Line Support Engineer that has good IT Technical Troubleshooting covering a broad range of systems and infrastructures with the ability to lead on problem resolution and act as a point of escalation for the Helpdesk / First Line Team is required by a well-established Company based in Wokingham, Berkshire.

SALARY: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum + Benefits

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Service Desk IT Support Technician / Desktop 2nd Line Support Engineer that has good IT Technical Troubleshooting covering a broad range of systems and infrastructures with the ability to lead on problem resolution and act as a point of escalation for the Helpdesk / First Line Team.

Working as the Service Desk IT Support Technician / Desktop 2nd Line Support Engineer you will need the ability to work independently to provide software, systems and infrastructure support to all Users.

As the Service Desk IT Support Technician / Desktop 2nd Line Support Engineer you will work to improve support mechanisms and processes whilst using a ticketing system to manage, prioritise and report on support demands.

DUTIES

Your duties and responsibilities as the Service Desk IT Support Technician / Desktop 2nd Line Support Engineer include:

                                                                                                     Resolve tickets in a timely fashion with regular updates to Users

                                                                                                     Work independently to manage workload over a broad range of systems and infrastructures

                                                                                                     Build (internal) User relationships to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction

                                                                                                     Build professional relationships to maximise efficiency and effectiveness

                                                                                                     Be able and willing to help out colleagues

                                                                                                     Present ideas and information in a clear, concise, organised and diplomatic manner

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

                                                                                                     Educated to A-Level/IB/NVQ/HND standard or equivalent

                                                                                                     IT Qualification (such as CCNA/A+/MSCE/MSc).

                                                                                                     Active Directory & Windows Server Administration

                                                                                                     Linux - basic knowledge of console, access, and system commands

                                                                                                     IIS - website administration, creation, access management

                                                                                                     SQL Server - basic knowledge and understanding

                                                                                                     Methodical problem analysis and resolution of software problems

                                                                                                     Excellent customer service and communication skills

                                                                                                     Ability to work independently, on or off-site

                                                                                                     Excellent organisation and problem solving skills

                                                                                                     Logical, concise analytical thinker

                                                                                                     Lead on problem resolution, act as point of escalation

                                                                                                     Positive and committed attitude
