We are looking for a Software Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join a software house in Bath.
You will be tasked to develop and perform manual tests on admin and consumer facing web products. This role is a crucial component to the company's development process, and you will play an important role in ensuring software runs smoothly and meets client needs.
As part of this role you will review system requirements and monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions. You will work in an Agile environment and be responsible for designing and implementing tests, debugging, defining corrective instruction and tracking quality assurance metrics (i.e. defect densities and open defect counts). The ideal candidate will be a good problem solver who is passionate about providing end-to-end solutions in the most efficient way possible. We want someone who enjoys a challenge and is proactive self starter. We are looking for a confident team player who can play to their strengths and understand those of the team. You will be willing to say no when you don't have the necessary information to proceed, and be transparent in communicating concerns.

Responsibilities
Estimate and prioritise testing activities
Plan and develop testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
Apply detailed, and well-structured test plans and test cases Identify, record, and track bugs and conduct regression testing when bugs are resolved
Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
Review requirements, technical specifications and designs and provide meaningful feedback
Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
Track quality assurance metrics Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
Requirements
Proven hands on experience in software development of admin and consumer facing products
Experience in software QA and superior knowledge of methodologies, tools and processes
Ability to write clear, detailed test plans and test cases within an Agile environment
Experience with both white box and black box testing
Experience with API testing
Competence in UI testing including designing & creating automated frameworks using Selenium or similar tools.
Nice to have but not essential to get the role;
Experience with automated e2e tests with Webdriver Experience with acceptance testing such as cucumber
Good knowledge of SQL and scripting experience with performance and/or security testing
BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar
