Technical Writer, Technical Author, Instructional Design, Software, Documentation

Our client are a pioneering and award-winning software company who are looking for a Technical Writer to join them in their central London office, The role of Technical Writer / Author will be working on a documentation library and software platform and setting up the toolkit for further documentation in future.. The Technical Writer / Author will be required to work collaboratively with both scientists and software developers to craft clear and coherent technical information for a growing user base. Ideally the Technical Writer will have vast experience and a proven track record of being able to pick up new systems and adjust to challenging technical environments.

Key Responsibilities of the Technical Writer include:

                               Taking ownership of the preparation and delivery of quality end-user documentation including Online Help throughout its lifetime

                               Prioritises tasks in line with project / release deadlines, communicating progress and obstacles as necessary

                               Is an agent of constant improvement of the quality of documentation

                               Set up a toolstack to match our current documentation needs, etc.

                               Contributes to the editing and review of documents from usability, readability and technical perspectives.

                               Adjust and streamline documentation pipeline to match current and future needs.

                               Research designated product areas and target audiences by face to face discussion with subject matter experts, searching existing customer feedback, and self-driven research.
