This energetic Edinburgh IT Managed Services Company is looking for an enthusiastic and trustworthy IT Support Technician to join them, initially on a 6 months contract, but will make permanent for the right candidate.

The company aims are simple in that they make people's working lives easier through technology.

What to expect from the role

- You will be responsible for effectively resolving technology problems from their Edinburgh office and on-site at one of their long term clients in Edinburgh.

- You will familiar with Hardware and Desktop Operating Systems and skilled in managing of Office 365 and other cloud technologies. You will also work with Active Directory and internet access services.

- Within this role, you will be visible, accessible, and accountable and this role is ideal for someone who enjoys meeting people.

- You will be expected to pass Microsoft and other supplier training courses.

- Team spirit is of the utmost importance. All staff strongly demonstrate their values; to be trustworthy, act with integrity, always be honest, actively work in teams, and ultimately to make a difference!

- You will be supported by your colleagues, and will be expected to support them in turn.

- You should be well-presented and able to fit into clients' office environments. Accurate time recording and writing concise notes for clients is very important.

- As you progress, there will be opportunities to specialise in an area of technology or eventually move into Service Management.

Core responsibilities:

- Provide remote and on-site hardware and software support

- Ensure all network issues and support calls are accurately logged, prioritised and comply with Service Agreements

- Resolve issues directly for end users

- In conjunction with their management team, prepare reports and discuss with the client

- Install IT hardware and software

- Adhere to commercial cost and time constraints

The ideal candidate

You will have strong recent experience of:

- Microsoft technologies including Office 365 and PowerShell

- Active Directory Security and Distribution groups

- Desktop configuration and testing

- Backups and business continuity

- Working with end users, their departments and management teams.

- A university or college education is preferred, but we will consider applications from candidates with good IT work experience.

- You will bring a dynamic and enthusiastic approach when you join the team at Dunedin IT and you will have an excellent command of written and spoken English.
