Cyber Security Analyst - Home Office

SOC, CSOC, LIVE SERVICES, CYBER SECURITY, NETWORKS, INFORMATION SECURITY, IT ANALYST

Permanent role based in Salford - Salary up to £33,229 + shift allowance + up to 22% employer pension contribution and more.

Role:

The jobholder will work as part of the CSOC team to effectively provide dedicated intrusion monitoring and analysis for CSOC operations. The jobholder will also perform analysis of security events to include validation, escalation, and reporting of Events of Interest (EOI) and incidents. The jobholder will be responsible for ensuring the CSOC Triage channels and associated EOI are continuously monitored and reviewed.

We need someone who:

* Is keen to undertake challenging technical training provided by a top commercial provider.

* Is prepared to invest in their future and develop a capability we do not currently have in the Home Office.

* Already has a technical background and will see this as an opportunity to turn an existing interest and aptitude into the start of a new career.

* Be willing to learn about Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms and targeted cyber attack analysis.

Essential Criteria

* Good analytical and communication skills.

* Ability to work as part of a team and to liaise with stakeholders.

* Some knowledge of networks, hypervisors (for example Citrix), operating systems, middleware, and application support from working in an Information systems environment.

* Previous experience in operations role - IT/call centre.

* Previous personal/working interest in IT.

* Background in casework. / Incident work

* Must be prepared to work on a shift basis.

Desirable Criteria

* Experience working within a SOC.

* Forensics/security related Degree.

* Knowledge of scripting languages Python, PowerShell.
