Scheduler - SC clearance, planning management, scheduling consultancy, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, EPM, MS Project

Role Duties:

The Scheduler will be charged with extending the project team's expertise in planning and scheduling, including leading the construction of complex project schedules from first principles using Primavera P6. The ability to think and act at a detailed analytical level to develop project schedules that are robust, pragmatic, realistic and suitably tailored to the needs of a client/business is important. The candidate should be able to demonstrate gravitas and credibility and have experience of engaging with and presenting complex project schedules to decision-makers.

Experience and Knowledge:

* Experience of working with SMEs to build complex project schedules

* Knowledge of MOD acquisition management processes

* Have held a planning manager post in project-based organisation and/or to have already operated as a planning and scheduling consultant

* Experience of working closely with (and providing advice to) programme and project managers in governmental and/or civilian organisations

* Experience at developing and implementing schedules at different stages of the lifecycle

* Experience in leading and facilitating client discussions, including workshop facilitation

* Background in the development and implementation and project schedule analytics and reporting methodologies and techniques (e.g. Critical Path analysis)

* Wider project management-related experience would be beneficial

* Must be SC cleared or above in the first instance.

Skills and competencies:

* Be an acknowledged expert in constructing complex project schedules using Primavera P6.

* Have considerable Microsoft Project / EPM expertise.

* Be able to expertly transfer planning data from Microsoft Project to Primavera P6, reliability and without loss of planning logic;

* Have formal training in use of Primavera P6, and be able to deliver familiarisation training in planning techniques and the P6 tool to less experienced colleagues.

* MS Project

* Must be available for travel - Little bit of travel to Boscombe Down/Brize Norton/Cambridge - few days per month
