Our client requires 1 Big Data Developer to work on site in Glasgow.

Summary:

* New transformation program for a UK customer based in Glasgow focusing on Big Data technologies

* Agile Development

* A sound Development expertise in Java and hands on development experience on Cassandra and Spark.

Responsibilities:

* Representing our client as a Big Data expert, the associate needs to demonstrate the client value to clients, prospects and partners to establish trust, win confidence, and drive more business.

* Bring Big Data expertise to the table and provide architectural inputs and implementation cycles.

* Look at the big picture and provide best practice architecture design and deployment options.

* Work as a team with other leads and developers, owning and contributing in deliverables and guide/lead the team towards success

Skills:

Essential:

1 Hands on experience on DataStax Cassandra

2 Hands on java developer with wide exposure to enterprise technologies and exposure to distributed system development.

3 Core Java with Spring, Multi-threaded programming, Remote debugging

4 Efficient storage and processing of large datasets ( Spark, Cassandra )

5 Ability to understand complex codebases

6 Git/Bitbucket/Jira - gitflow development model

7 Performance tuning and optimisation

1 CI/CD

1. Scala
