Information Security Analyst - Oxfordshire - Home

Experis working with a Oxfordshire based SME organisation who are looking to grow their Information Security team.

The role will report to the Information Security Manager and and will be accountable for balancing the need to protect the business with the need to do business through the delivery of a pragmatic Information Security Management System.

The successful candidate will be required to engage with teams from the wider business, IT service providers and suppliers to ensure that appropriate security controls are in place and are appropriate for the needs of the business.

Information security skills

A broad and deep understanding of information security frameworks including ISO27001/2.

Communication skills

Conveys information and opinions clearly, accurately and convincingly through speech and/or in writing. Able to communicate effectively at all levels, including senior stakeholders and external third parties. Able to gain commitment from others for corrective action, without conflict, and influence without causing offence.

Leadership

Is visible and accessible to colleagues. Promotes the need for a secure controlled environment.

Technical skills

Demonstrates strong technical skills, and in-depth understanding of systems, networking and security, particularly in a Microsoft environment.

Requirements of the role:

Experience

Proven experience of working as an information or IT security resource in a mid-size organisation

Very good understanding of technical architecture and security aspects of infrastructure technology

Experience of implementing technical security standards and security policies

Practical approach to improving the quality and attention to security in a fast changing organisation.

Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation, regulatory compliance, and security frameworks such as ISO 27001

Strong people skills with experience of working with external customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

Security certification such as CISSP, CompTIA or qualifications from the Sans Institute
