Why is this role key to our business?

This role is an integral part of providing a best-in-class People Operations Service to the business:

* You will support line managers and colleagues by providing sound and timely advice via telephone, face to face and online on policy, process, employment law and best practice. This includes, but is not limited to: probationary reviews, absence management, the disciplinary process; handling grievances, performance management, the redundancy process and TUPE, family friendly and next generation working policies.

* You will ensure that the people agenda is maintained and any risk to the business is minimised, by partnering with the People Business Partners within the business, identifying root cause analysis and suggesting interventions where appropriate.

* You will provide commercially balanced and proactive advice and take full end to end ownership of cases raised.

* You will help our colleagues to interpret our policies and guide and support them to choose the best course of action for that particular situation.

* You will, as part of a team, keep relevant guidance up to date and keep yourself updated with developments within HR and employment law

* You will amend templates / documentation, ensuring that colleagues are able to self-serve effectively

* You may also own individual projects relating to the employee lifecycle or support in larger HR change initiatives.

* You will work collaboratively across the Workplace and Colleague Experience teams to ensure that all colleagues' issues are resolved to their satisfaction

* You will deliver and design People Management training in order to upskill our People Leaders in employee relations topics

How will I add value in this role?

* By ensuring that you provide a high level of quality service to all colleagues and line managers throughout their life at client* and that risks to the business are identified and managed

* You will be proactive in understanding issues and challenges as they arise and use your expertise and good judgment to find the best possible outcomes.

* You will play an active role in encouraging and driving accountability for people management into line managers, providing them with the tools they need to do this, in the form of training, policies, guidelines and coaching.

* You will be adept at quickly establishing relationships, gaining trust and confidence of those that are seeking your advice.

* You will be confident in working with our partners to gain more specialist advice in order to manage cases, such as occupational health, income protection and rehabilitation support, employment lawyer

* You will, as part of a team, keep our policies and supporting documents up to date and in line with any changing legislation.

* You will also identify training needs from the types of issues that are being raised to you, develop training materials and interventions, deliver training or use Workday learning as a tool
