Functional Safety Engineer

County Clare, Ireland

EUR50,000 - EUR80,000 (Depending on Experience) + Holiday + Benefits

Functional Safety Engineer required to join a market leading automotive company based in County Clare, Ireland.

As Functional Safety Engineer you will work on the Design and Architecture of vehicle HW and SW Safety Systems, work with Suppliers and HW/SW Developers to design ISO 26262 compliant systems and work with SW developers to develop ISO 26262 compliant SW. You will also be a part of the System Hazard and Risk analysis, definition of Safety Goals, Functional Safety Requirements, Technical Safety Requirements, HW and SW safety requirements.

The ideal Functional Safety Engineer will have a degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related technical field or equivalent practical experience. They will also have a good knowledge of the ISO 26262 Standard and safety analysis experience using FMEA, FMEDA, FTA.

The Role:

* Functional Safety Engineer

* Design and Architecture of vehicle HW and SW Safety Systems

* Work with Suppliers and HW/SW Developers to design ISO 26262 compliant systems

* Work with SW developers to develop ISO 26262 compliant SW

* System Hazard and Risk analysis, definition of Safety Goals, Functional Safety Requirements, Technical Safety Requirements, HW and SW safety requirements

* Safety Analysis and Failure Analysis of HW and SW systems

* Documenting analysis results and requirements

The Person:

* Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

* Have a good knowledge of the ISO 26262 Standard

* Experience in generating ISO 26262 Work Products, Safety Plans, HW/SW Safety Concepts, Configuration Management Plans, Change Management Plans, Safety Manuals,

* Safety Analysis experience, FMEA, FMEDA, FTA,

* Understanding of Safety Metrics, SPFM, LFM and PMHF

* Understand SW safety mechanisms and processes for safe and robust SW development

* Highly motivated and self-starting individual.
