Network Engineer -Birmingham - Permanent

Cisco, LAN, WAN, VLAN, ASA, Checkpoint, F5, Fortinet, Firewalls, Scripting, Routing & Switching, VMware NSX, CCNA, CCNP, CCDA….

I am looking for a highly skilled and dynamic Network Engineer who would like to join a global financial services organisation based in Birmingham who can offer excellent development and career opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

To work within the Networks Team implementing new project work and supporting current infrastructure to ensure availability of services to clients across all networking technologies.

Responsibilities also include:

*Smooth operation of company networks

*Continually monitor network for performance in line with agreed SLA

*Focus on continual improvement of networks and overall IT effectiveness

*Resolution of new and outstanding service requests and fault tickets;

*Ensure all changes meet with PCI DSS standards and our own internal standards and specification;

*Recommend improvements to current and new architecture to improve resiliency, efficiency and reduce cost of Network Infrastructure;

*Maintain and adhere to policies and procedures relating to networks.

*Participate in the development of Network strategies in collaboration with the Network Manager

*Test networks in relation to systems performance and provide regular performance statistics and reporting;

*develop strategies and roadmaps for maintaining network infrastructure

*Practice IT asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation

*Deputise for the Network Manager in their absence, if required.

Key Skills

*Cisco Switching and routing

*Firewalls (any vendor)

*Knowledge and understanding of load

*balancing technology

*Strong customer service orientation

Qualifications:

*CCNA

*CCNP, CSSA (desirable)
