Summary

We've got an open role for a product designer working in Tesco's apps design team building one of the country's most popular shopping apps and setting it up for the future. This is a chance to work on a product that makes shopping easier for millions of people.

The Apps team is made up of IA, interaction design, research, UI and prototyping specialists. As a member of the design team you'll help define best practices and standards to establish and continuously raise the quality of our native apps. for our digital products and services. In addition to your role looking across product teams you will be embedded as a designer within a cross-functional, delivery team working to agile practices. Your work will have a positive and tangible impact on millions of customers.

Main Responsibilities

- Communication and development of creative concepts, executional ideas and design rationale to team members and stakeholders.

- Documentation of new design rules, patterns, systems, style guides and interaction guides.

- Improving on existing or relevant native design rules, patterns, systems, style guides and interaction guides.

- Collaboration with other designers, prototypers and researchers in other design teams to produce consistent multi-channel experiences.

- Responsibility for the quality of the the production of your and others' work under

pressure with meticulous attention to detail.

Ideal Candidate

- You have passion for design and technology, with a keen interest in visual arts and

digital culture.

- Self-motivated and organised with good time management skills.

- An aptitude and eagerness to mentor and elevate other creative people.

- Extensive commercial design experience, preferably in digital agency environments.

- A bachelor's degree (BA or BSc) or equivalent qualification in a relevant design

discipline. A master's degree (MA or MSc) or equivalent qualification is an advantage.

- A proven track record in the form of industry recognition and awards.

- Previous experience in the retail sector is an advantage.
