Oracle DBA required for a leading British client in Basingstoke Main Duties:Take ownership of the technical design of the Database environment, to meet the needs of current and future customers in line with business strategyBuild and rollout database changes to time, cost and qualityDesign and deliver enhancements to the transactional databases as part of project teamDevelop and test data migration scriptsMentor developers with the database techniquesKnowledge, Experience & Skills Required:The ideal candidate will have all of the following skillsExperienced and knowledgeable in all aspects of designing and developing transactional databases and data migrations for web-based software systems and web services, including:

'€¢Database schema design for transactional systems'€¢Oracle Database Administration'€¢Oracle SQL*Plus'€¢Oracle PL/SQL'€¢Database solutions design  '€¢ETL, Star-schemas and data marts'€¢Partitioning'€¢Entity-relationship modelling using Visio or similar tools'€¢Advanced SQL, skills including joins, sub-queries, unions, recursion etc'€¢In-database queries '€¢Query profiling and performance tuning'€¢Scripting for data migrations using Unix scripting

Familiar with the procedures, practices and issues around supporting databases and database infrastructure, including:

'€¢Oracle Performance Tuning'€¢Oracle Database Patching'€¢Oracle Database Clustering'€¢Oracle Dataguard'€¢Oracle Grid'€¢Linux /UNIX Server Administration'€¢Windows Server Administration'€¢Storage solutions (SAN)'€¢OLAP / OLTP'€¢Oracle Application Server Administration'€¢Oracle Data Warehousing'€¢Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration

Knowledge of appropriate business methodology, tools and practices including:
