Java Developer
12 month Contract
Up to £600 per day

I have an urgent requirement for an experienced Java Developer to join my market leading client in central London. In this role you will be trying to keep the client one step ahead of those who wish to maliciously compromise customer accounts.
This is a new position leading (but very much hands-on) a small team by adding new security features. It's a rapidly changing environment so you'll get exposure to tools at the cutting edge.
You will be responsible for:
* Designing, developing and testing applications and services in a continuously integrated environment.
* Taking a keen interest in the business, not just a solving a technical problem. We want you to understand the big picture (which we'll show you) and how your work fits into it.
* Leading a small remote development team.
* Collaborating with experts in the area of security at Expedia and with our partners.
* Working with business partners to flesh out and deliver on requirements in an agile manner.
Key skills & competencies:
* Solid experience in Java, Spring and web application development
* Experience developing and integrating with RESTful web services
* Competency in working with relational and NoSQL databases
* A good working knowledge of security concepts is desirable
* Experience working with cloud technologies is desirable
* Comfortable operating in an agile environment
* Good interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills when working with both business and technical teams
