Spring Technology are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our leading clients for a 2nd Line Support Technician to be based in Leicester on a permanent basis.

Working within the clients in-house IT team, you will support the companies UK and International business operations by providing effective 2nd line Hardware support to internal users, both Nationally and Internationally.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

*To offer second line technical and software support for all IT related queries, relating to hardware and software

*To provide technical and administrative support and solutions

*Proactively monitor all IT Infrastructure using the provided monitoring tools

*Effectively and accurately troubleshoot issues

*React to issues raised by the Helpdesk and maintain an accurate history via tools provided.

*Allocate and escalate enquiries as necessary if no immediate resolution is possible

*To ensure that issues are responded to within service level agreed time frames, and that communication levels are maintained at all times

*To communicate professionally and accurately to the IT Team Leader, IT Support Manager and the wider business

*Create and update relevant knowledge basis documentation

*To provide an escalation path for the Helpdesk team, escalating and liaising with suppliers and third parties where necessary.

Qualification

*Good level of numeracy and literacy skills, i.e. GCSE level or equivalent.

*MCSA/MSCE qualifications in areas relevant to the role (desirable)

*ITIL foundation (desirable)

Experience

*Previous experience of both 1st and 2nd line support.

*IT support experience gained within point of sale/ business systems or stock/ order processing ERP solutions

*ITIL Experience

*Experience of working in a technically diverse organisation

Functional Skills

*Active Directory, Windows 7/10, Office 2010/2013/Office 365

*Network and Server skills - DNS / DHCP, Server 2008 / 2012, GPO.

*Linux / Unix experience

*High level of attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately and in a logical/methodical manner.
