Mechanical Design Engineer, Near Portishead, £35,000

Huxley engineering are recruiting for one of their key clients near the Portishead area that specialise in the design and development of special purpose electro-mechanical machinery for a niche industry sector.

The business is highly innovative; customer focused and has consistently grown over recent years. It offers all the advantages of a large multinational company backed up by the security and professionalism of a global group.

As part of the companies drive towards improving product quality, they are looking to employ a Mechanical Designer to support development, improve common assemblies, production support as well as support component obsolesce and fault resolution on released products.

Skills required

Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:

Drawing using CATIA or SolidWorks

Undertake work to progress ECN's

Investigation of ECN, resolution of issue, contact suppliers, document and draw corrections.

Provide drawings to mechanical engineers within the TSG group Specification, component selection and design of sub-assemblies.

Design calculations in support of design (hand and FEA calculations) Preparation of technical construction documents.

Creation of bill of materials.

Development of test specifications Support production Field support.

Salary will be £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience + benefits.
